The big 3 insulin manufacturers offer several different patient assistance programs and co-pay cards to help cover the high cost of insulin in the United States. Not all of these programs and cards are the same and you may only be eligible for one, or maybe even none at all. These are not solutions by any means, but they can help some people that are able to gain access to them.

Instead of lowering the list price of insulin permanently during this global pandemic, Eli Lilly offered a $35 copay card to all of its customers in the United States. We are unsure how long this card will be available for. There is no 100% guarantee that everyone will be able to access this copay card. This card is offered only to those with commercial insurance and those without health insurance. Medicare Part D plans are not eligible for a $35 co-pay card.
Lilly Cares is a patient assistance program (PAP) that Eli Lilly offers to a select group of its customers. The program provides Lilly medications to approved participants for free for up to 12 months (U.S. only). There is never a 100% guarantee that someone will be eligible for the Lilly Cares PAP since this program is known to be very limited, but it doesn’t hurt to try.

If you meet the eligibility requirements and are approved, you will be enrolled for 12 months. Medicare Part D patients will be enrolled through the end of the calendar year. Medications will either be shipped to your home or to your healthcare provider’s office. Eli Lilly’s pharmacy partner will call you to schedule delivery, if applicable. You must REAPPLY to remain in the program each year.
